Obituary of Vincent J. O'Neill

Vincent J. O'Neill, Jr. 31 was called home by God on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. Vincent was born on Long Island to Vincent J. Sr. and Janet O'Neill. Vincent graduated Chaminade High school in 2005 and received his bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Marist College in 2009. During his time at Marist, he held a prestigious White House internship under President George W. Bush and worked on the Presidential Campaign for the late Senator John McCain. Following his passion for the law and aspirations to become a lawyer he then attended Syracuse University Law School and received his Juris Doctorate in 2012. Following his first law position in western New York he started working for the Rensselaer County District Attorney's Office in 2015. It was here where he found his passion for working with victims and the community. Vincent was a proud member of the Marist Crew team and enjoyed boating, fishing, swimming, hiking with his dog Liam and various outdoor activities. A true Long Island boy, he had a love for the ocean and family trips to Fire Island. He touched so many lives with his kind heart, humor, intelligence, and his "good looks and Catholic School boy charm." In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife: Staci K. (nee Makovich) O'Neill, in-laws Stephen and Cindy Makovich, siblings Darlene (Harry) Jacobsen, Sharon (Bobby) Vigliarolo and Douglas Young. God parents Stuart and Gloria Jones. Nieces and nephews Carisa (April) Eye, Kristi Lee (Mark) Brodd, Tylar and Blakelee Vigliarolo. He is also survived by a host of friends. Friends may call at the Wm. J. Rockefeller funeral home 165 Columbia Tpk. in Rensselaer on Saturday, December 15th from 4-8pm Additional calling hours will be from Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Home in West Sayville,NY on Monday, December 17th, 2-4:30 & 7-9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 18th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's RC Church in Smithtown.
