Born on March 20, 1918, Edith age 100 slipped peacefully from this world on July 6, 2018 in evergreen commons East Greenbush, NY.
Edith worked for W.T. Grants Company for 40 years. Edith worked in various jobs and ended her career in sales by selling antiques out of the "Victorian House" at Meissners Auction Services in New Lebanon. . Edith, affectionately called. Aunt Edie by many, loved to garden, read mystery novels, knit, to hook rugs and visit with friends. She and her sisters were members of Love Lutheran Church in East Greenbush for many years. Edith was currently a member of the West Central Rensselaer County Lutheran Parish in N. Greenbush, and formerly of Trinity Lutheran church of W. Sand Lake. Edith was determined for many years to reach the age of 100 and attributed her longevity to a love for chocolate. .
Edith was predeceased by her parents Charles Otto William Meissner and Julia Helen (Nonamaker) and all her sisters, brothers, and sisters-in-law, Richard (Charlotte), Violetta, Margaret, Robert (Rose), Charles (Genevieve), and Francis (Mary) Meissner. She was also predeceased by her nephews infant Francis Meissner Jr., Marine Sergeant Major Donald Meissner, Roland Meissner, and her beloved godson Keith R. Meissner, Sr. and great nephew Paul Coomes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service 10 o'clock Monday July 16, 2018 at the West Central Rensselaer County Lutheran Parish Winter Street extension North Greenbush, NY. Friends and family are invited to her Calling hours Sunday after noon 11-1 at the Rockefeller funeral home 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer.
