Obituary of William M. Wampole
William (Bill) Wampole, 73, of East Greenbush died peacefully at his home on Friday, August 3, 2018 with his family at his side. Bill was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and moved early in life to Nassau, New York. He was a contractor and home builder for over 40 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family on vacation which included trips to Myrtle Beach, Maine and Florida. Bill loved playing in local Texas Hold'em tournaments and the friendships he made. He looked forward to trips to casinos with his recently deceased wife, Barbara. Bill's outgoing personality and general interest in people was evident no matter where he was. He was a friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Bill is survived by his daughter Elizabeth (Steve) Hart and two sons Richard (Jody) Broughton and Jack (Shelly) Broughton, and his sister Margaret (Peg) De Champ. He was a proud grandfather of Lacey Davis, Chelsea and Nicolle Broughton, Cassie Broughton, Tyler, Steven Jr., Maddie Hart and a great- grandfather of Michaela, Keagan and Killian Davis.
Bill's family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice Team and caregivers which include Karen, Bree, Kim, Paula and Colleen.
The family has requested those who wish to make a memorial contribution may do so in Bill's name to either Community Hospice 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208 or the Greenbush Reformed Church, 688 Columbia Turnpike, East Greenbush.
