Obituary of Stella Theresa Pike

Stella Theresa Pike, 70, of Rensselaer passed Saturday, October 6, 2018 after a tragic accident and long rehabilitation surrounded by her loving family. Theresa was born in Albany to the late Edward and Stella (Ragule) Liptak. She was a 1966 graduate of St. John's Academy, she went to St. Catherine's to earn her childcare technician degree from there working in the newborn nursery at St. Peters and taught preschool at St. Johns Academy. She later took a position with her good friend Ted Burek as a Sales and Office Manager for Century Monument. Theresa was a special mother, nana, sister, aunt, and friend. Anyone who had the privilege to know her can attest to her loving and caring nature. She always knew what to do and what to say. She was married to George F. Pike who was the love of her life and the source of her aggravation for all 22 years of marriage. Upon his passing her daughter continued in that role. She leaves her legacy for doing for others and selflessly giving to be carried out by her loving daughter and her three most precious grandchildren who are the perfect mixture of both Theresa and George. They will forever miss watching the Yankee games with her and her special companion Teddie. Predeceased by her loving husband George F. Pike, brother, Michael Liptak, Vincent Liptak, Theresa is survived by her one daughter: Christa Pike-Krause (Scott) three grandchildren, Gabrielle Pike, Estelle Krause, George Krause. siblings Edward (Jean) Liptak : Genevieve (Richard) West, Sister Mary Lou Liptak, RSM, Ann Marie Liptak and Agnes (Frank) Petrucci, Special sister In law Patricia (Kenneth) Maleck. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special thanks to her aide Naleni Balchand for her loving care throughout this entire journey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass 10:00 Tuesday Morning at Parish of St Johns and St. Josephs 50 Herrick St, Rensselaer, NY where a liturgy of Christian death and burial will be celebrated. Friends may call in the Wm. J. Rockefeller funeral home Monday from 4-7. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer.
