Obituary of Norma B. Hardenburgh
Norma B. Hardenburgh 92 of Slingerlands, died Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Kingsway Arms Nursing home. Norma was born in Cohoes to the late Harry and Flossie (Gage) Hardenburgh. She graduated from Cohoes Highschool, Russell sage with a Bachelor of Art, and earned master's degree at Middlebury College in VT. She was a member of the First United Baptist Church, Rensselaer, where she served as church clerk for many years. Member of Van Rensselaer Star chapter #256 and was past district deputy Grand Matron of the 2nd Albany Rensselaer-Schenectady district. Member of the NY State Retired Teachers Association and Troy and Albany chapters of Retired Teachers; AARP national and Rensselaer chapters. Norma attended Christian women and church women United groups. Before retirement Norma taught at Rensselaer High school and traveled extensively since then. She enjoyed summers cottaging at Babcock lake.
Survivors include her cousins Edna (late William) Waterhouse, Marjorie Roden and second cousins Wendy (James) Becofsky Richard (Lori), William (Ann) Jr., David (Susan) Waterhouse
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours 11-1 with a 1 o'clock funeral service at the Rockefeller funeral home 165 Columbia Tpk Rensselaer, NY 12144.
