Obituary of Peter M. Stenson

Peter Michael Stenson, 66, passed away suddenly at his East Greenbush home on October 20, 2018. Peter was born in Kingston, NY to Joseph T. and Theresa L. Stenson. He graduated from John A. Coleman HS in Kingston and the University at Albany and earned an MBA at Russel Sage. Peter was a dedicated public servant, working in the State Division of the Budget and later the Dept. of Correctional Services. After retiring from State service, he indulged his passion for golf and became active in local government and politics, serving the Town of East Greenbush as Chief Financial officer. He also served on the Citizens Financial Advisory Board and the Planning Board. Peter was the Chairman of the Town Democratic Committee and recently was elected Vice Chair of the Rensselaer County Democratic Committee. He was also a branch manager at Liberty Tax in East Greenbush. Peter is survived by his long-time companion, Linda Natale, his brother and sister-in law, Brian and Catherine Stenson, nephew Ryan Stenson, niece Erin Stenson, M.D. and several cousins and aunts. Calling hours at W.J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer, Thursday October 25, 4-7 pm.
