Obituary of Earnest J Venable
Ernest J Venable 79 of East Greenbush was called home Thursday, November 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Ernest was born in Townsville, NC to the late Ernest Venable Jr and Fannie Bea Butler. For the past 57 years Ernest could be found with an infectious smile at St Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Ernest worked for St. Peter's Hospital and, with his wife, began building his business. He enjoyed time on his farm in North Carolina, could always be found at his apartment houses puttering around for hours. Ernest always took time to talk with anyone who was looking for a little guidance. But most of all he loved spending quality time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his aunt and uncle who raised him, Jesse and Annie Lee Evans, siblings Carrie R. Venable, Lilly Venable-Whitted, James Venable, Joseph Butler, Nathaniel Butler, Jessie Evans Jr and Mamie Evans, Irene Butler and Nannie Belle Greene.
Earnest is survived by his wife of 51 years, Katherine (Paulk) Venable , one daughter: Tonya Venable and two sons: Maceo J. (Sheryl) Venable and Patrick (Christine) Venable, Sisters Annie Brunson, Marie Venable Jones, Faye Butler, Rita Butler, Frances Evans, Brenda Edwards, Artelia (Harold) Trice, Deborah Evans, Katrina (Dennis) Williams. Brothers Tony (Linda) Butler Jr., Howard Butler, David Butler, Arthur Butler; James R. Evans, Delawrence (Ondra) Evans, Calvin Evans, Jarvis (Chong) Evans, Michael (Pattie) Evans, Taylor (Cassandra) Evans, , Sisters in laws Ernestine Venable and Sue Butler. Grandchildren Michael (Dana) Venable, Horatio Venable, Karretta Venable, Jalisa Venable, Quincy Venable and Sophia Venable. Honorary granddaughter Erin LaBarge and a host of nieces and nephews. Special thank you to Sr. Kay Graber and the staff at St. Peters hospital, Community Hospice Rensselaer ,Dr Garbo, Dr. Rosenberg and Dr. Bertram for all the care and compassion

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Wednesday11:00am from the Metropolitan Baptist Church 105 2nd Street, Albany, NY. 12210. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Rockefeller Funeral Home 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer.
Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre.
