Obituary of Cheryl A. K. Childs
Cheryl K. Childs, 70, of East Greenbush died Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at home. Cheryl was born in Elmira, NY to the late Charles and Rose Kerr. She was the beloved wife of 49 years to Gregory O. Childs. She worked for the NYS Retirement Systems before retiring in 2003 after 26 years of service. Cheryl took great joy in spending time with her family, having lunch with friends and watching professional bull riding competitions. After retirement, Cheryl and her husband Gregory traveled extensively- having visited more than thirty countries on five continents.
In addition to her husband Gregory, Cheryl is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Catricala; three sons Walter (Kelly Mohan) Childs, Gregory (Nicole) Childs and Joshua (Emily Luddy) Childs; two sisters Linda Hjelle and Rose Schmitt and four grandchildren Jacob, Anthony, Morgan and Taylor. Cheryl was predeceased by her sister Theresa Kerr.
The family would like to thank Community Hospice for the wonderful care and support they provided to Cheryl.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to the Greenbush Reformed Church, P.O. Box 460, East Greenbush, NY 12061.
