Obituary of Viola A. Pannitti

Viola Pannitti, 98, of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 23, 2019 joining her loving husband, Edward Sr. of 61 years. Viola's greatest love was family and she took pride in being a homemaker. She loved to swim, was an avid reader, and had an interest in fashion. She would light up a room with her beauty and elegance. Viola was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's church in Clinton Heights Viola was mother to Gerry Suranyi, Edward Pannitti Jr., Diane Pannitti, Gloria Fonda(Walter), Jacqueline Abbott (Michael), and Gwen Pannitti. She was grandmother to Jessica Suranyi-Hammond, Byron Fonda, Kendra Pannitti, Michael, Jason, Julia Abbott and great grandmother to Harrison Hammond. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our brother, Ed, for his endless devotion and amazing care of our mother, to Patty Jarvis for coming into our family and hearts and to Hospice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday 9:00 from the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home 165 Columbia Tpk. and 9:30 at Church of St Mary 163 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer, NY. Friends may call in the funeral home Wednesday from 4-7pm. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer. Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association .
