Obituary of Henning Hey
Henning Hey was born in Germany on August 18, 1927. He was married to his wife, Helen, for 68 years. He always referred to her, "as the only woman he ever loved" and they held hands and were dedicated to each other throughout their marriage.
Henning and Helen immigrated to the United States, with their three year old daughter, Ute, in 1953. In 1957 they had their son Henry.
Henning and Helen always worked hard and, together, were able to make all their dreams come true. Henning was a kind and gentle man who loved his family, loved being an Opa (grandfather) and Ur Opa (great grandfather), had a dry, quick and contagious sense of humor, played the accordion, was always willing to help his friends, and was known for appreciating his wife's wonderful cooking.
After a short illness, on the morning of September 20, 2017, surrounded by his family and holding Helen's hand he gently passed and left us. In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter Ute, her husband Robert Lindberg, his son Henry and his partner Donna Becker.
He was loved by his four grandchildren and their families: Frank DeLuca (married to Mariana – daughter Natalia), David DeLuca (married to Melissa – daughter Avery), Lizette Stone (married to Ryan – daughters Harmony and Autumn), and Henry Hey.
He was also loved by his three step grandsons and their families: Rob Lindberg (married to Karen – son Robbie), Andy Lindberg (married to Ida Marie- sons Erik and Oskar), and Matt Lindberg (married to Kylee – daughter Ellery).
He is also survived by his younger brother Hanke Hey (married to Margrit Kruger) of whom he was very proud and had predeceased two brothers Hans Hey (married to Tuttie) and Eibe Hey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral service Saturday 1:00 pm from The Rockefeller funeral home 165 Columbia Tpk. Rensselaer.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Castleton Volunteer Ambulance Service, 1700 Brookview Road, Castleton on Hudson, NY 12033.
