Obituary of Russell E Edberg

Russell E Edberg, Jr. 84 of East Greenbush died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Evergreen Commons. Russell was born in Providence, RI the son of the late Russell E and Martha (Brodin) Edberg Sr.. He was an administrator of Finance for NYS DOT for many years before retiring in 1990. Russell was a proud Army veteran of the Korean war. Russell was also very active in his community being a member of 45 years of the Rotary, a member and past president of the East Greenbush Fire Dept., Treasurer of Schodack Center Fire District and was Capt. of the EGFD fire police, and was also on the board of directors of the Doors of Hope. Predeceased by his Wife, Dorothie A (Carpenter) Edberg. Russell is survived by his loving children Debra (Tim) Boel, Richard (Kim) Edberg and Scott (Paula) Edberg, proud grandfather of Jennefer (Michael) Lansing, Stefanie Boel, Melisa Boel, Catheryne Boel, Justin(Desirae) Edberg, Makenzie Edberg, Braden Boner, Ryan Boner, and Meghan (Jake) Bratton; Great grandfather of Piper Lansing. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral 11:00 am on Wednesday October 11, 2017 from Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc. 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY Interment will be in East Greenbush Cemetery, East Greenbush. .
