Obituary of Richard C. Stillwell

Richard Clark Stillwell Sr., 95, of East Greenbush died Friday, October 20, 2017 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Richard was born in East Greenbush to the late William and Ida Stillwell. His career included working as a home delivery driver for Blenwell Beverages, and retired as a letter carrier for the US Postal service in Hyde Park where he lived most of his life. He was an Navy veteran of World War II. and a member of The Hyde Park American Legion. He also Volunteered for the Roosevelt Fire Department Engine 2, the 4H, and Cub Scouts. Predeceased by his first wife, Virginia Mabel Hutchings, daughter, Eileen Sheehan, stepdaughter, Patricia Ammerman, brother, William Stillwell, sister, Dorothy Phillips, and half brother Robert Stillwell. Richard is survived by his wife: Ruth (Brown)(Cunningham) Stillwell , two daughters: Bonnie DeFazio (Ken) and Vicki Stillwell, and two sons: Richard Stillwell Jr. (Stephanie) and Victor Stillwell, step sons, Glenn Cunningham (Shirley); F. Bruce Cunningham (Jamie); Gary Cunningham (Sharon); Mark Cunningham (Christina); Kevin Cunningham (Eileen); and seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service 4:00 pm on Saturday from Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc. 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY.
