Obituary of James A. Muscato

James ("Muskie") A. Muscato, 69, of East Greenbush died suddenly on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Jim was born in Syracuse to James V. and Lucy (Fruscello) Muscato. His father having passed when Jim was just 9 years old, he was raised by his beloved mother Lucy. After attending North Syracuse High School, Jim worked for 14 years for P&C Foods and retired as Assistant Store Manager. In addition to his work with P&C, Jim worked with his cousin as as an Office Manager for JR Auto Parts in Solvay, NY. He was an avid car enthusiast, owning a '64 Ford Fairlane 500 and won many trophies at car shows. He was also a Yankees fan and enjoyed spending time with family, attending many youth athletic games. Jim always had a joke and made those around him laugh and feel loved, especially his caring wife of 45 years Rose (Mamarelli). He was a constant and strong presence in the lives of his children James (Stacey) and Gina and his two grandchildren Micah and Emiliana. He is also survived by one aunt and many cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the calling hours on Tuesday evening between 4-7 at the Rockefeller Funeral Home (165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer). The funeral services are on Wednesday morning 9:00 starting at Rockefeller Funeral Home with a mass to follow at 9:30 at Historic St. Mary's Church. (10 Lodge St, Albany, NY). Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer.
