Obituary of Jeanne D. Wheeler

Jeanne D.Wheeler, 98, of Renssealer died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Van Rensselaer Manor. Jeanne was born in Cortland, NY to the late James and Hazel Daniels and spent most of her childhood in Middleburg, NY. She graduated from Lasell Jr. College in Massachusetts and was employed at Plattsburgh and Amsterdam School Districts. She retired from Hudson Valley Community College in 1991. She and her husband "Red" retired to Hendersonville, NC for 12 years where she was a volunteer in the Red Cross, Mental health Clinic and started her love of Golf. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, for 50 years, She and "Red" returned to Rensselaer in 1993. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband W. Redmond Wheeler in 2010. She is survived by daughter Mary Jane Wheeler ; one granddaughter, Kimberly (Terry) Ward of Newark valley, NY; two great grandchildren, Casey Ward of Apalachin, NY and Tiffany Ward of Matthews, NC. She is also survived by Three Nieces. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Friday February 2, 2018 1:00 at the E.G. United Methodist Gilligan & Hayes Rd, East Greenbush, NY with visitation from 12:00–1:00 prior to the service at the church Interment will be in spring at the Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the middleburgh united Methodist Church 281 Main St, or American Heart Association. The family wishes to thanks the nurses and staff at the Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing home C-3 for their wonderful care and support .
