Obituary of Amy L. Foster

Amy L. Foster of Castleton passed away on March 14, 2018 after a long courageous battle with numerous health issues. She was born in Schenectady, NY on September 27, 1957. Amy was the beloved wife of Thomas Foster of 28 years, daughter of Janet and Richard (deceased) Peacock, sister of Preston (Patricia) Peacock, Philip (Barbara) Peacock, Dawn (William) Moniz, mother to Matthew (Carrie) Sollien and Adam (Jen) Sollien, Grandmother to Brynn, Mark & Bryan. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Amy was predeceased by her first husband Mark Sollien. Amy spent her career as a Customer Service Manager at Insurance Agencies in the Albany area including J. Edward Poole & Co., Michael F. Conners & Son and most recently the Ten Eyck Group who have been extremely supportive throughout her career and illness. Amy loved spending time outdoors, skiing in Vermont and Colorado, bicycling, camping, boating on Lake George, time at Thatcher Park and especially gardening. Amy "Mimi" spent as much time as she could with her grandkids: reading, puzzles, crafts and many other activities. They meant the world to her. She was also a perfectionist. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Willen and the staff of NYOH of Clifton Park, the staff of Albany Memorial Wound Care Center, Dr. Napoor Raje, Dr. William Tsiaris and the rest of the staff of Mass General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Calling hours will be on Monday, March 19th from 3pm – 6pm at WM. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc, 165 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer. A private burial will be held for the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Amy's name can be made to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.
